Atlas Mountain Race

The Atlas Mountain Race is a fixed route, unsupported, single-stage cycling race that starts in Marrakesh. It crosses the Moroccan Atlas before taking riders through the Anti-Atlas and on to Agadir. The clock does not stop and there are no prizes. It follows gravel, single and double track and old colonial pistes that have long been forgotten and fallen into disrepair. There is very little tarmac. There is some walking, and at times there are great distances between resupply points.

The race starts on the 6th of February 2021 with a ‘grand départ’ from Marrakesh. Riders will follow a 1167 kilometre fixed route that passes through three staffed control points. They will need to get a stamp in their brevet card at each, before finally heading to the finish line in Agadir, a resort town on the Atlantic coast, for a well deserved post-race beer or two.

Entries for the race will open on the 2nd of October and you will need to get your application to race in before the 30th of October at midnight. Everything you need to know about the race will be in the Race Manual that will be published when registration opens. You can check out the race route through Komoot here. We'll get back to you on the 7th of November to let you know if you got a spot to race!
